The IT Crowd

If you have not seen this show, you simply must. Start from Version 1.0 immediately and see how quickly you fall in love. I stumbled upon it searching for random shows on netflix and I am currently unaware of it's popularity rate. Other than the obvious transitions seen in the show itself, like, the department stage accumulating massive amounts of geek decor or the upgrade in film quality. I can only assume it's fan base is ever increasing.

Let's meet the characters! We have Moss, Jen, and Roy (in the order pictured above).
Moss: The overly sensitive uber geek, whose quirky mannerisms are hilarious.
Roy: The somewhat sensible yet rowdy one of the bunch but can get quite emotional.
Jen: Only watches out for herself, lazy yet fun boss. I love her blase and ruthless humor.
Of course, I feel the need to include Douglas Reynholm of Reynholm industries. The over the top, perverted and chauvinistic CEO. He defitnetly is the most abrasive character making him in my book, the funniest one. There is also Richard(Mighty Boosh star), who lives in the boiler room of the basement for no apparent reason.

Synopsis- In episode one, Jen is introduced to the IT department as a "relationship manager" becoming Roy and Moss's boss. She has absolutely no knowledge of anything related to technology and thinks IT stands for 'internet things'. Roy can't stand her at first and Moss couldn't mind either way. However, they quickly become a team of great work mates. Douglas comes in later after inheriting the company from his recently deceased father. Countless shennighans are had, from Moss almost being eaten by a German cannibal to Roy being "sexually abused" by a masseuse, the entertainment never stops. The show doesn't really have anything to do with computers but more the interactions between people who are in the field. I like how uniquely accurate many of the situations are, that and how insanely unrealistic some can be.

One of my favorite episodes is when Jen throws a Dinner Party. Richard turns out to be more savvy than he realized, Moss gets hounded by a drunk slut and his reactions make you "squee" in laughter. Jen invites a guest she is interested in by the name of "Peter File" and numerous jokes are made about it's similarities to "pedophile".

It seems to me this show belongs on American television, Adult Swim on Cartoon Network to be exact, otherwise you can torrent the episodes, buy the dvd sets (unsure if any have actually been released), or just watch them on http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-it-crowd.

Word of the Day:
Deciduous-
1. shedding the leaves annually, as certain trees and shrubs.
2. falling off or shed at a particular season, stage of growth, etc., as leaves, horns, or teeth.
3. not permanent; transitory.
